spring sunday

When Olive is in charge (when is she not?), we start every Sunday with pancakes. She usually makes herself a snowman pancake with chocolate chip buttons and coconut hair. Here she is just prior to devouring...

Today, after breakfast, we continued on our path toward perfecting our lemonade business...We have a way to go, but Olive is learning a lot. She is beginning to figure out some marketing tactics - she knocks on the neighbors' doors to solicit business and yells at passers by. She is also figuring out how to make change - right now everyone gets some change even if they give the exact amount. It cuts into profits, but it makes the customers happy! Next weekend is a big one at the park across the street - the opening of soccer season and baseball - I am sure business will be booming - I hope we will be ready!

The total take after two days of selling lemonade and ice tea? $20!! Not bad (and not sure where all that $$ came from). I tell customers that Olive is saving for college, she says that she is saving her money for a trip to Texas to see Gracie! At this rate, we just might make it to Austin by November!

Here is Olive with our neighbor Mark - a repeat customer, whether he likes it or not!!

Tonight after dinner we went for a walk / ride and played tortoise and the hare. Olive was the hare. Apparently at this moment, the tortoises were not playing by the hare's rules...
